Lesedi Day Care

Lesedi Day Care is based on Farm J92 just outside Marble Hall and has seen its first day on the 7th of May 2012 and we can report very proudly that the children have all settled in well, quite content to have their parents close-by in the pack house during our packing season (May until August) or on the farm in the field – they even drink two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice each day in-season!

We have two child minders with a passion for children. These women care for the children with so much love, all while maintaining strict discipline. We currently make a difference to 11 learners in our care.

We provide educational stimulation and preparation for formal schooling. In addition, children attending LDC also receive two nutritious meals per day, which greatly improves their physical health. Most of the children attending come from very poor households, unable to pay for the day care. The day care is currently charged at R100 per child per month, but most families cannot afford this, but we still encourage the parents to bring their children. Our dream is to offer the day care free of charge to the community.  LDC will allow disadvantaged children to have access to educational stimulation and prepare
them adequately for their formal schooling. For woman in the community, the access to LDC allows them to find employment and attend work on a regular basis, thus empowering them and improving their lives and the lives of their children.

We focus on developing the child holistically and preparing them on all levels of development. Currently we have a facility at our farm in Marble Hall, Limpopo. LDC makes a great difference in the lives of children, ensuring that they start their schooling years with the best possible background.
